May 1994. Its predecessor company was Integrated Control
Systems Pvt. Ltd, based in Keamari Karachi 1987-‘94.
Presently DCC’s main offices are located at Clifton
Centre,  Clifton
Karachi Data Communication & Control (Pvt) Ltd currently
employs a staff of 45. Of these most are graduate engineers/
software developers. The Company employs top graduates
around the globe including the best institutions of the
country.

Telemedicine
Telemedicine has been defined as the use of telecommunications to
provide medical information and services. (Perednia and Allen,
1995). It may be as simple as two health professionals discussing
a case over
the telephone, or as sophisticated as using satellite technology
to broadcast a consultation between providers at facilities in two
countries, using videoconferencing equipment. The first is used daily
by most health professionals,  and
the latter is used by the military and some large medical centers.
It is the practice of telemedicine somewhere in between those two
which will be described in this article. |
